Awards Committee Shirley Rock announced that the Awards Committee is proceeding with a Bronze Award nomination, the award engraving and composing the tribute to accompany the award. It will be presented in May. Barbara informed us that Wayne and Marie Lawson have agreed to assume the responsibility for hosting and refreshments. Dave Hammond provided cake for all to enjoy and appreciate. In return for a good deed, Barbara announced the Royal Horticultural Society Certificate of International Registration of the rhododendron named "David G. Hammond", registered by Edna Newcomb November 7, 2003. It is a Loyd Newcomb seedling from the hybrid cross of Lem’s Tangerine x Mary Drennen. In lieu of a regular program, we enjoyed the annual gift exchange, which entailed a lot of friendly insults and repeated "exchange" of favored gifts. The plant raffle also took place. |
