It’s that time of year again…..

Our ARS dues are due when you receive this newsletter starting our new season.  The deadline for payment is December 1st, 2004 if you wish to continue receiving the Journal of the American Rhododendron Society without interruption.

Some of you will not receive a “dues envelope” because you are paid up through the 2005 season.  I would encourage you to use your envelope for the payment of your dues and to make any corrections necessary.  For instance you may note your zip code is followed by 0000.  This means I don’t have your postal number.  Please note that it is $35 for single folks and $40 for family and $8 for associates.

You have the option of paying via a charge card.  If that is your desire then make sure all the information is clearly legible and accurate.  Your envelope will be forwarded to ARS along with our chapter check.

Deficit Spending: OK for the Feds, but not for us

We showed a loss at the completion of our 2004 flower show at the Everett mall, but we do have quite an inventory of plants (unsold but paid for) to be raffled off during the season.  Also our bus trip last spring was very expensive, so our bank account lowered by about $1500.  We can make up for that by buing lots of raffle tickets and bidding a “fair” price for the plants being auctioned (we need Kirby back as chief shill).
