The meeting was called to order by President Greg Winters. The first order of business was to bring up the issue of annual elections coming during our last meeting of the year. The Board will submit nominees for this election. Our annual bus trip is scheduled for Saturday, April 29th. There are 3 planned stops; Alma’s Gardens in Montisano, Joyce Buell’s sister’s place in the same vicinity, and Dave & Joan Hammonds Garden Farm in Humptulips. It is at this last stop we’ll share a buffalo burger picnic. The departure time will probably be around 8AM at the 116th and I-5 “Park and Ride”. There is no new information on our scheduled Mother’s Day Flower Show and the Everett Mall. Don Smart informed us there is no scheduled Chapter Presidents meeting at this time where the subject will include the upcoming National Convention. Please note that our April meeting will be held in the Fellowship Hall, First Baptist Church, 81st & State Ave., Marysville. The entrance to the hall is on the East side of the building with plenty of parking available. We will be responsible for “put up” and “take down” after the meeting. This will be a “Pot Luck” meeting. Greg introduced our guest speaker, Bill Stipe, whose subject was, Rhododendrons Have More Than Just Pretty Flowers. The slide pictures were from the Stipe Garden. An auction and raffle were held at the end of the meeting. |
