The meeting was called to order at 7:30PM by Greg Winters. Fred Kirby reported on the meeting with the scheduling manager at the Everett Mall regarding our Mother’s Day Flower Show in May.   He was informed this may be the last time we can put on a show without having to pay rent for the weekend, which could amount to $750.00. We were also informed we may not be able to sell plants, because of conflicts with established businesses in the Mall.   This would be more of an impact on the show the Rose Society puts on, but we will probably be subject to the ban as well. It’s not even positive we’ll be able to sell plants this year, but the manager will keep us informed.

Shirley Rock reported on our participation in the Northwest Flower and Garden Show, in the Seattle Convention Center next week.  The ARS has a booth in the education area of the sixth floor. There will be a shuttle bus available on the weekend but there will be no shuttle service on week days.

Dalen & Lori Bayes were introduced and they presented a wonderful slide show of their recent trip to China, with a Steve Hootman tour. Especially interesting were the pictures taken from a hot air balloon trip, and the very remote villages in the mountains of Southern China.

Dalen reminded us of the ARS Fall Conference at Harrison Hot Springs. The dates are September 22nd - 24th.  Brochures and Registration forms were made available.

Steve and Linda Hunt of Everett and Jane Smith of Marysville have requested membership in the chapter.  Welcome aboard!

The meeting concluded with an auction and raffle. There seemed to be a plant for everyone.
