March 31st—April 1st

RSF Spring plant sale

Apparently the Lawson’s favorite pet rhododendron ate the minutes from last meeting.  After roundly scolding the errant flower, Marie tried to reconstruct the events of the day and came up with the following:  “I know we did have the traditional cake from Hammond, we had a fun "white elephant" gift exchange, and a few of the Fuschia Society people were there”.

At the next meeting we will gladly accept motions from the floor to correct the minutes as necessary.

Presidential Musings

I hope everyone had healthy and happy holidays!  Between the snow and wind storms, it has been an eventful fall.  I sure hope winter is less so.  The storms have raised havoc with many of my plants.  Broken limbs and plants abound.  I'm looking forward to our January meeting where I will learn how to save a few.

We have a very interesting topic for our January meeting.  Chuck Blankenship has agreed to provide us with a 'hands on' or 'watch and learn' grafting demonstration.  I will provide the understock.  If you have cuttings that you would like to bring, please do so.

Chuck is very knowledgeable about rhodies and adept at grafting.  I hope you all will participate because this is a great opportunity.  Thank you in advance, Chuck!  We are fortunate to have you in our chapter.

I look forward to seeing you all on Jan. 4th. A group of us have dinner at the Golden Corral at 5-5:30pm before the meeting.  You are all welcome to join us!

Jerry Rock,

President
