Pres Jerry Rock opened the meeting and requested approval of the previous meeting minutes. Minutes approved as printed in the previous newsletter. The treasurer also reported on our financial position. Greg Winters reported on a planned ‘cleanup’ day at Meerkerk Gardens, this Saturday between 9 - 12. The May picnic will be held at Blankenship’s Nursery in Oso. It was suggested that our meeting place for the upcoming 2007/2008 will be the Fellowship Hall of First Baptist Church of Marysville. Wayne Lawson will contact the Church Elder Board to see if this is possible. The May bus trip to Florence, Oregon was cancelled because of the high cost of chartering a bus for a two day trip. Alternatives were suggested: (1) Species Foundation in Federal Way (2) Lake Wold (3) ??? A decision will be made at our May meeting. Come with some good ideas. The evening program was a video show of Len Miller’s Garden in Oklahoma. Rhododendrons in Oklahoma face many different growing conditions compared to our Northwest gardens. The Flower show on Camano Island is still in the planning stage, but it is imperative we all take the opportunity to participate. Each shift will be four hours, and we can definitely say you will find those four hours very enjoyable and profitable. Please sign up at our next meeting and then participate. The meeting closed with a raffle and auction. Respectfully submitted Marie Lawson - Secretary |
