Pilchuck Chapter ARS

The meeting was called to order by Pres. Jerry Rock, who announced that we’d better be thinking about his replacement since his two year tour as our President will expire this year. If there are any worthy candidates for this office, please contact a board member whose names and phone numbers are printed in each “Pollinator” newsletter.

The Rocks had two power-point presentations for us, but since they were quite lengthy, we could choose between slide show on Acers or Rhodys. We chose Acers, and Jerry gave a good presentation with his little laser pointer.

There is no new information on the upcoming bus trip because Dave Hammond was absent from the meeting. We will be going to the 80 acre Dover Nursery in Portland.

It was MSP that we continue our membership in the Species Garden in Federal Way. All Pilchuck members will again have free access to the gardens by just checking in to the gate office and identifying yourself as a Pilchuck member.

The Treasurer noted that membership is dropping. Our current count is 36. It was also noted that even though we had a “loser” at the Camano Flower show we will still have to pay prox $90 B&O tax on our Gross Sales.

We no longer have any plants left over from the past flower shows, so plants donations would be appreciated.

The meeting closed with a ticket raffle and auction.

Ed Note:  It looks like you need to look for a Newsletter Editor too.  I’m getting too involved in school related items and am moving up to more management level duties at work—all needing much more time.  The Pollinator is getting short shrift and that’s not right.
