PILCHUCK CHAPTER - ARS Meeting Minutes February 5, 2009
The meeting was called to order by President Barbara Blankenship, and before we got on with our second pot-luck of the season, a variety of business was put on the table. Fred Kirby reported that Vern, our singing bus driver, has sold his bus, and it looks more and more that he will not be available for any more tours. Fred also reported that Vern now has diabetes. Cheryl Arney commented that the Chapter will have the opportunity to see many local gardens this year because of all those tours being available during the upcoming ARS Convention in April. Shirley Rock made a motion that we cancel all plans for a bus trip this year. MSP
There will be a meeting of the Convention committees this Saturday, February 7th The Spring Picnic will be held at Jerry & Shirley Rock’s garden, May 7th , starting at 6PM There was a quiz in the last issue of the Pilchuck Pollinator. And the winner is…………….Barbara Harris.
As reported last month, Dr Glein has offered some wonderful plants from his garden. Fred Kirby and Jerry Rock have made arrangements to gather up these plants at the proper time, for use by the Chapter in various fund raising activities. Thank you Dr.
Dave Hammond is requesting help in getting the potted plants ready for the Convention. They will need cleaning and then transporting to the location in Everett. Dave would like to have this accomplished about 1 ½ weeks before Convention time. Call Dave if you can help.
The Pot Luck was fabulous, as always. It was followed by a raffle and auction.
